Can't Delete Files

Hi All, tried this once before but got messed up and never saw if there was any response so I'll try it again. I have 4 files that will not delete. They show up as OmniPage.jpgImage in the file type. They will not open nor will they respond to any commands. If I right click them, I get a much smaller menu than normal with only a few commands, and delete is not one of them. I have tried dragging them to the recycle bin, doing that while holding shift, highlighting them and clicking 'delete this file' in the file and folder task window, using the edit command from the window after right clicking, pretty much anything I can think of, but no luck. These things seem bulletproof. I don't even know what's in them. They have names that are so long they go off the page and they appear to be some type of adult stuff but I didn't download them, at least not intentionally. Anybody have any clue what these are and how I might get rid of them? It's pretty aggravating. Thanks, Chip

“Some type of adult stuff” hope you have good Firewall & AV protection?

Only OmniPage files I’ve heard of are those used in some OCR (optical character recognition) software engines. For converting or text searching from image type files (e.g. PDF, TIF, JPG, BMP) to MS Office type files.

Strange that the relevant OmniPage jpg image files cannot be deleted, unless they have some sort of file protection (normally associated with exe files)? Have you tried delete (or drag to) then click on recycle bin & select empty recycle bin, that has worked for me when trying to get rid of unwanted exe type files.

There are many other suggestions in this Forum, such as using “Safe Mode”, renaming file(s) etc. click here for an example.

In any case even when files are deleted from explorer they remain on your PC, think you need to defrag to completely remove.

This should remove the files on the next boot:
