Can't delete folder
Upon opening a downloaded mpg or avi file from a fileshare program the program immediately shut down and ie7 had an error message that it had to close ( mod Unknown). The folder in question (shared) is is in my documents and settings directory, so I can't do the standard copy or move and delete as it won't allow it. Chek Disk removed another minor problem I had but not this one. The problem it created is I can't do a complete virus scan or registry fix (Symantec One Button or manual). If my pointer even waves across the folder, explorer error message appears and I have to close using task manager. Dr Watson error appears at times but doesn't shutdown my computer.
I've tried most of the suggested fixes on the posts I've read except delltree as I couldn't find the correct prompts to type in. Symantec has an unhook tool for opening shell command but that appears to need a virus name to delete from registry. I don't know if this is a virus or what. Any suggestions out there?
Added note: I have received my Vista Premium Upgrade, would installing this solve the problem or just keep it in Vista?

What are the properties of that directory? Who has rights there?
