Can’t delete some files in Windows Explorer

Question

Hello,I have a Dell Inspiron 9100 Laptop XP.  During the last few weeks, many files in Windows Explorer can not be deleted by the normal procedure of 'selection + Delete button + OK'.  I get an error message which says: 'Error deleting File or Folder – Cannot delete SA458b~1.jpg: Cannot find the specified file.  Make sure you specify the correct path and file name.'When trying to delete different groups of files in different folders, a different file will be specified but the result is the same & the message is exactly the same.  This prevents the entire group of files from being deleted.Also, I have checked the 'Attributes' of my files & they are NOT marked for Read-Only, & the Advanced Attributes box says 'File is ready for archiving'.Dr. Richard Evans

Thanks, it worked! (the folder had to be renamed twice to make it work).

I have forgotten what little I knew re DOS. After loading DOS & entering the path to the problem folder & pressing Enter, I only get an error message. ????
