cant disconnect from web in win2k
in win2k pro, i can browse the web fine. when it comes to close my dialup, i click disconnect, and i am given the message " it is not possible to disconnect at this time. the connection is being used by one or more protocols that do not support plug and play , or it ma have been initiated by another user or the system account." i am using the administrators account so i should be able to shut down the connection. i have to pull the phone lead out of the wall to disconnect. any ideas?

Have you checked for viruses or spyware? Anything detected recently? Someone may be hijacking your pc and the info on it. It does not sound like you have a firewall. If not get one. If I get any strange things going on I immediately lock the firewall to stop all communication (quicker than pulling out the jack).
