Yes, I knew you would need those. I have to get the list from my daughter.
I don't think she actually got an error message, but I think she went on the Help and Support for Windows and it told her to "Run" these certain files, and when she tried they weren't there. I'll get more info from her. Thanks.

Sorry it's taking me so long to get back to this thread, but I just got the file names from my daughter. They are:
regsvr32msscript.ocx
regsvr32dispex.dll
regsvr32vbscript.dll
regsvr32scrrun.dll
Besides not being able to install critical updates, she can't open web pages, and is having trouble staying online. If you have any suggestions on how she can get these files back into her system, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Sandy: Those are not missing files, those are command lines to re-register those specific files. Tell her to do the following:
1. Click "Start," and then click "Run."
2. Type the following in the "Open" box and click "OK":
regsvr32 msscript.ocx (notice there is a space after regsvr32)
3. Repeat for dispex.dll, vbscript.dll, and scrrun.dll.
Post back if that works.
