Can't install downloaded microsoft program

Question

I have downloaded Photostory3 but when I try to install it I get an error message saying can not access Windows Installer or contact the systom administrator. The 'installer' icon is faint as though the file isn't there. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks.

Thanks for steering my in the right direction, Dunedin. Apparently the quick fix is to go to http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/...; look for 'Reinstalling the Microsoft Windows Installer'; and follow the steps. So far it seems to work.
