Can't print from Windows ME
Dimension 4100, Windows ME, 512MB RAM, 20GB disk
All of a sudden I can no longer print from any windows application to my HP 882 printer. Problem occurs with both parallel and USB connections. Everything else on the computer seems to be working ok.
Message from windows: "Error writing to LPT1...parameter is incorrect."
Message from HP software: "Printer driver problem..."
I reinstalled driver software from original HP distribution disk - no joy.
Printer seems to install correctly and shows up on window's printer list.
But - HP diagnostics: "No communication with printer..."
However, I can print just fine from the DOS window! This would imply a windows problem rather than a malfunction with the printer.
What do I do now? Any help would be appreciated.
