If I understand what you say you're trying to do correctly, it appears that you're missing a step. Once you hit Print Screen to capture the image, you need to paste same into something like Paint or Irfan View and then save it as an image file first. Once that's done, you can place the saved image file in an OE message using the Insert Picture function.
If you use the combination of Ctrl + Print Screen, that image is placed on the clipboard and then available to be placed into any document through the normal "pasting" options, such as Crtl+ V.

Not on any of my machines, unless you missed a step in your directions, too.
I never tried it before but I just hit Print Screen, went to an opened Word XP document and hit Ctrl-V and this page was pasted into the document. (It also works with Edit|Paste.)
Yes that's what I thought. I also think that did work just like that at on time but no longer? Take this forums screen shot for example. ctrl + print screen then paste into what ever correct? If so it doesn't work. I think I saw where shift + print screen would do the same? If so it doesn't work either. Pasting does not show as an option when done either way.
What can be causing this not to work. I don't use this function that often but I do think it did work like you mentioned at one time?
Thanks..............

I tried what both you and Denny said and neither works. Funny thing is I think it did work that way at one time? Is there a setting some where that needs to be checked or something?
This
MS Knowledge Base Article may shed some light on what is happening. In my case, uninstalling the MS Word Add-In for MS Works resolved the issue. If one has need for the Word templates in Works, a work-around is to open the Word (or other) program
before copying the text and it will paste normally.
Well, so much for OE, that's one reason more for me not to use it. I do know for any product connected with Office which includes Outlook, the tip I posted will work.
Sounds like you're a candidate for PrintKey. You can download a copy of PrintKey 2000 from here. It takes over the PrintScrn key (and Alt+PrintScrn). It copies to the clipboard, lets you save the image, do some basic image/color editting, and it's freeware. The best thing that I like about it is clipping portions of web pages that don't allow printing.
Flooby, whatever I put on the clipboard by alt/print screen (which copies only the top open window instaed of the whole screen when you use just "Print Screen" stays on the clip board until I copy something else to it or shut down. I can paste it in any document I like, including e-mails, message board posts etc. without first copying and pasting to, say, a Word document. I only do the latter if I wish to save it permanently.

Denny,
Nice little pup there. I saw that picture a while back though. What does he or she look like now? I doubt that it's mean.

PrintKey 2000 works with W2K, XP SP1 & SP2
