can't restore or get to safe mode with networking
My Windows 7 based system has given me the blue screen of death after it says it is configuring windows and not to shut down the computer. I can get to safe mode only, but it says there isn't a restore point. If I try to run safe mode with networking I get the blue screen of death. Antivirus won't load in safe mode. I don't want to have to completely reinstall Windows but that seems like the only option.

Hi eports,
Pleas share the system model. I will recommend you to run the diagnostics on your system to check the hardware functonality:
Please let me know if you get an error code/message. In case the diagnostics pass, we can try to bring the system back to factory settings to fix this issue.
Keep me posted. Please reply for any further questions.

thank you for responding. It is a Studio XPS with 64 bit system. I ran the diagnostics and there are no errors. I find it odd that I can get to the safe mode but not the safe mode with networking. I can also get to the repair screen where it asks me to select a system restore point but it says there aren't any restore points.

Hi eports,
I will recommend you to take the system back to its factory settings since the diagnostics pass:
Note: PC restore will lead to data (pictures, documents, programs, music) loss. Please perform a data backup prior to this step. Please disconnect any external peripherals (printer, scanner or any USB device) as well.
Please reply for any further questions.
