Can't Update USB Controller Driver

I am seeing an error concerning my 'Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller', on the Device Manager, it appeared that I should update the driver, but this has failed.

I tried to find the driver manually, but there are a multitude of choices, and the Windows dialog box suggested I NOT update the driver.

On the System Information utility, the error is 'This device cannot start'.

This is a brand-new XPS 8500...Any suggestions?

thanks,

Chris

What version of Windows?

What USB devices are connected to the system?

Manually set a System Restore point just to be safe. Then open Device Manager and look for an item under USB that is marked with a yellow ! or red X.  Right- click that item and select Uninstall. Then reboot and let Wndows (automatically) reinstall the device.
