It sometimes helps people help you if you state the name of the operating system and the model of the computer that you are using.

I don't believe in general Internet Explorer opens graphics files on its own; it usually calls up something like Microsoft Paint or some other graphics program, depending on what has been associated with the file extension.  Try saving one of the pictures to a folder on your hard drive and see if you can use one of your graphics programs to show it.  If you have nothing presently associated with the file type you should get a query from Windows showing available programs and asking what program you want to use to open the file.  You may also notice that there is a check box on the lower part of the query window that state "Always Use This Program for This File Type" or something similar to that.  Once you have chosen the program and made sure that box is checked, you will only need to double click it if it's stored on your hard drive, and IE should recognize the same thing and call up that graphics program when you click on the file in IE.
