Start>Computer and right click on any one of the Removable Disks that are displayed (there should be 4 of them). Select properties and then click on the Hardware tab. This window will identify the make of the card reader (in my case, the card reader is the Teac model).

Then, from here, expand the CD/DVD section and scroll down to find the driver that is applicable to your model. For example, the Teac reader has two updates - a driver update and a firmware update. Download and install the appropriate updates and try the card reader again.

Note - read ALL of the instructions on the driver page. The following is important:

"After Computer Shutdown, remove the AC plug, and wait for one minute before turning the computer on."

Thanks Rebel9. I tried what you wrote, but it's not even showing up in the drives when I look at Start > Ccomputer..

Thanks Rebel9. I had only rebooted and not shut down and then turned back on. When I did that it was working again. I'm wondering if it's maybe not an sp1 issue and just one of those things - I thought it probably was as it was the first time I'd used it since installing sp1. I've gone ahead and updated the firmware and driver anyway, so that should hopefully guard against future problems. Thanks again for your help and I hope you have a great easter

I assume you've done a COLD boot since installing SP1? If not, try that and see if Windows discovers the card reader. If that doesn't work, you may want to look at your original packing slip to see if that identifies the card reader model.

Is there a way to determine what version of the firmware is currently installed on the multi-card reader?
