Thanks Steve for responding to the Ccapp error message. . I have windows 98 second addition. Do those solutions apply to me?
The error message pops up when windows is doing a system scan or disc scan or anything pertaining to norton then it freezes. Then I went to the symantec site I was told that windows is running in audit mode and I had to edit the registry and delete audit. However, when I went to edit the registry , there was nothing that said audit. The HKEY LOCAL KEY said Default (value not set) and Full Logging (no) How can I tell if my windows is running in the correct mode?
Windows has two main operating modes - normal mode and safe mode. The term "audit mode" does not refer to Windows 98. Since the error message occurs when using Symantec products, I would suggest that you completely uninstall the program and then reinstall it.
Windows is running in "Audit Mode". This happens when the PC manufacturer does not turn off this setting before your PC leaves the factory. When "Audit Mode" is turned on, it prevents your Symantec product from finishing its setup. Be sure and run your "Automated Support Assistant" in Symantec for clues on errors. Try link below for information.
Thank you both for your advice..I will remove the norton and reinstall it. I also went to the registry and removed the audit mode that was enabled.....Keeping fingers crossed......thx
That is the make up of my computer. So if I have a question on the forum, no one has to wonder what my computer is. I set it up, now it just comes up automatic everytime I post a message. Someone else will have to tell you how to set it up. I forget but could figure it out if no one responds.
