CCAPP ERROR

When I updated from SP1 to SP2, the update process crashed in the middle. I tried repeating the SP2 update process, to no avail. It continues to crash in the same place. Something is messed up and ever since, I get this CCAPP Error whenever Internet Explorer tries to open. I never use IE, but sometimes a link will automatically go to IE. I get this message:

"Instruction @ "0x6afaf101" referenced memory at "0x00000008". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate program."

Clicking Ok does nothing, and the message does not go away. I have to reboot the computer. I tried updating MSIE to the latest version. No luck. My guess is that it is in the OS somewhere... Now what??? How can that be fixed?

Camare,

ccapp.exe is a process belonging to Norton AntiVirus. It is responsible for the auto-protect and email checking facilities.

ccapp.exe could also be a process belonging to an advertising program by Symantec Common Client CC App. This process monitors your browsing habits and distributes the data back to the author's servers for analysis.

Here are several additional sources for a possible solution to this issue:
