ccApp.exe -- why does it access Internet?
Does anyone know why ccApp.exe, the Symantec Common Client User Session, has to access the Internet all the time?
I installed Norton Internet Security a couple weeks ago. Then I disabled the firewall part and got ZoneAlarm because NIS slowed down my system so much. But ZA tells me ccApp.exe is "phoning home" all the time. I could just permission it permanently, but I'd really like to know what it's doing.

nilo, I also located this information:
"Part of Norton AntiVirus 2003. Auto-protect and E-mail check will not function with out this."
You can view this information at http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php
Simply type or copy/paste the ccApp.exe information to the Search line.

Hi nilo, I don't use Norton, but no doubt it is part of your AV program. Look at the thread in the link below, especially the third posting. I would allow that item internet access were I you, and check the box for ZA to remember this. You will not see the message anymore and your AV software will be able to do it's job.
