Changing Display Properties

Question

Hi, I tried posting this on the Forum a few weeks ago, but had no replies.  Perhaps someone can help? My desktop scheme changed it's colour scheme for no obvious reason.  I changed it back to XP standard, but the computer hangs.  The screen goes to a ghostly colour after the 'Please Wait' message disappears.  The keyboard is not dead, but I can't break out or change windows, and I have to force a hard reboot. Any ideas, please? TIA, BK

Have you tried doing anything in Safe Mode?

Hi,

Good question! In Safe Mode I can't change any of the Display Property settings. I select the Property (say a Theme, or screen resolution), click on Apply - and nothing changes. At least it doesn't lock up the computer.
