changing from ms dos mode back to windows 98

When I turn on my computer it says preparing to start your computer and it starts up in ms dos mode how do l go back to windows 98.

It gives me an a:\ prompt l tried everything. I typed win, win98, windows etc. maybe lm typing the command wrong.  Please l need help desperately.
