Color resolution changes when windows media player is opened
It changes from 32-bit to 8-bit. I can just change it back but that is not what is supposed to happen, it shouldn't change in the first place. A text box opened once and it had "RUNDLL" at the top. It had "Error in NvCpl.dll Missing Entry: NvCplHandleDisplayChange". I don't know if this has anything to do with it. My operating system is Windows XP. I tried to roll back the video driver with no results.

one of two things is wrong
1.) the nvidia video driver is corrupt [unlikely in this case]
2.) ur Rundll32.exe system file is corrupted [mostly by a virus, highly likely]
so I would suggest
1.)u first update antivirus and run scan [but if the virus is new it may not find it]
2.)u get a clean copy of rundll32.exe
Get the XP CD throw it in the drive exit if it autoplays
start--run--cmd [brings up the command prompt]
enter following commands, [Enter] means hit the enter key on the keyboard
cd \ [Enter] {now u should be a a C: or whatever drive letter ur harddrive is]
cd %systemroot%\system32 [Enter]
expand {YourCDDriveLetter}\I386\rundll32.ex_ rundll32.exe [Enter] {the YourCDDriveLetter means something like D:}
it might ask you to confirm, so say yes to replace file.
you can optionally uninstall and reinstall latest video drivers from nvidia.com
