Computer freezes after startup
After powering up and getting to the desktop page, the computer freezes. Mouse cursor shows ready to go if placed on desktop, Moving it to the bottom of the screen, the cursor becomes an hourglass. I've waited for as long as 6 minutes, but it remains frozen. The only way I can get out is to power down. I have a Dimension 2400 and Windows XP.
Need help, please.

Sounds to me like you have a problem device that Windows is waiting on a response from. Have any USB devices connected, or new cards added?
