Computer loads background, thats it.

Question

Anyone know whats the problem here and how to fix it?   I start up my computer and it loads fine up until it loads the background. Once it does that, it stops loading, none of the icons show up and the start bar doesnt show up.   I've tried to troubleshoot it by loading up system restore in safe mode with command prompt but it doesnt give me the option to restore factory settings.

try runnning chkdsk /r from the recovery consol after booting to the windows cdrom

sounds like a common spyware damage. try repair install over it.  also.. when u boot to empty desktop do   ctrl alt del.. click new task.. type explorer or end explorer in processes then run explorer in new task. if it works its malware :smileysurprised:
