Configuring Windows updates

Question

Hi   I'm running MS Vista on a Dell Inspiron 1501. Since new (6 months ago) it often insists on installing the same 13 windows updates and reconfiguring them which entails a 30 minute wait. This happens every week or so and is frustrating if  have to use the computer in a hurry. According the MS Support webite the problem may be caused by the updates containing multilingual packages Are there any fixes?   Thanks

in your predicament, you should set your windows updates to 'Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them'.

In Update History, does it say that these updates actually installed?
