After you remove a program from your computer, you should restart the computer to completely remove the components. If there are remnants of the program, then manual deletion can remove them.

What are you trying to remove?

thank you for replying, rick.

i am having activex, adobe and scripting problems with ie7.  i was removing the adobe programs.   i did restart after removing them from the add/remove option.  i did not think that i would have to manually delete them also...   why does that happen ?

also, i have my pc stats in "my account" and they have been in my posts of the past.   when i posted this question i noticed that the format has changed.  my avatar, pc stats and notification of a reply to the post no longer exist.   i will have to start from scratch.

thank you, again.
