It is only the control panel what it is opening slow, or also any other applications??? Your system specifications will help also, the version of Vista...

 

 

any specific reason you have ATI Catalyst opening at start up? i blocked mine from starting at boot up in "msconfig"............just curious.

correction - - > i uninstalled Catalyst and let windows find my drivers for video card about a month after i installed Vista if i remember right the video was grainy and someone told me to try uninstalling Catalyst.........most likely the same drivers but definitely better results

If I am trying to open control panel, windows explorer, recycle bin or any other application before coming of ATI icon on the task bar, I am facing this problem. Even some times I am getting the message "control panel not responding". After that when I am closing the application and opening again after ATI icon appears, then the control panel opens but slowly. If I am closing and opening the control panel or some other application two or three times then they respond properly.

 

I am using Inspiron 1501, AMD Turion 64x2, 1GB RAM and 120GB HDD.
