copying c: partition to another partition and it being bootable

I have no idea where to post this but I have windows xp installed on a dell dimension xps gen 4 computer.  The thing is I got acronis disk director and acronis true image on my computer. I also have 2 sata disks with multiple primary partitions on each disk. I am trying to install an exact copy of my C: windows xp with programs and all on another partitition on either one of the disk. What I did was I made an exact image copy of my C:. then I restored the image to another partition. For some reason, I also installed the acronis os selector on my computer, when I get to the screen to select the OS and select it it then takes me to the loading screen and then I get a screen that shows the microsoft windows xp logo where it just freezes up on me. What am I doing wrong. All I am trying to do is make an exact copy of my main c: and stick it on another partition where It can be bootable.   Thanks

Uninstall the Acronis OS selector, then reinstall it after the reboot, see if it straightens up.
