Corrupt Digital pictures

Question

I recently purchased a new Dell Dimension E521 desktop with Vista.  Each time I try to open one of my digital pictures in Picture Viewer it says that it is corrupt.  I have no problems with the same pictures on my work computer.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?  It makes it impossible to edit pictures to print or e-mail on my new computer.    I am extremely frustrated, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

From what you described, I don't think the pics are corrupted. Maybe it's the applications. You can try to open the pics with another viewer or editor. There're a lot of free downloads. What type of picture files do you have?  e.g. jpg? bmp? or some other format?     Telling the user to download a different viewer may work, but it's not fixing the problem.
