Corrupt File For Windows Live Messenger

Question

I keep getting this message whenever I sign in Windows Live Messenger about a corrupt file and run Chkdsk. Could it be because the version I am running is outdated and should I update?

I am currently updating Windows Live Messenger now. If it doesn't work, any other suggestions would be appreciated.

As a side note, this is on my father's computer, that is running XP.

Uninstall it then install it...

I unistalled it and reinstalled it, but to no avail. It didn't work. Any other suggestions?

I also get the message when I sign into MSN Explorer.
