corrupt symantec file(NIS 2007)

Can a corrupt file cause a BSOD during boot up? During the boot up it gets to account user logon  ........ BSOD!!!!!   I can boot in safe mode, but cannot access internet. Hours prior to this   I installed 2nd HD migrated to Raid 1 array successfully. Ran HD diagnostic, both disc passed. Could Norton be the culprit?

Roger1955, search your hard dive for folder called minidump, there should be a .dmp file in there, save it to another location and send me a private message with your email address, I will reply and then reply back with the .dmp file attached, I will try and determine what the bsod cause is for you, or you can try yourself using this link.  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315263

I recalled installing some microsoft updates that were deemed critical. I thought about it, and decided to do a windows restore. Guess what ???  no BSOD:smileyvery-happy: I also removed Norton using the Norton Removal Tool and reinstalled. I'm  good to go! Thanks for your response.
