Counter Spy Program

After reading a recent post "internet explorer" can anyone vouch for the program "Counter Spy"?
I already have SpySweeper, but is Counter Spy a good program to buy?

I read a favorable review in PC World magazine so I bought the app.  It seems to work fine.  However - be aware that it stays loaded in the background and in the system tray.  I prefer to run my spyware chekers when I want to and I keep Norton tunnign in the background.

I emailed their service and they responded that the next release (due in June/July-ish) will provide the ability to shut off auto-load and background run.

I can't vouch for the software beyond that.  I hope this is helpful for your decision on your own.

Thanks Thomas for the reply and the helpful information. I am thinking of buying it.

I can not comment about the program itself, but I will comment about running in the background.  I advocate background running of all protection software to prevent problems rather than recovering from them.  Just as I use my Anti Virus to prevent viruses from infection me, I would use an Anti Spyware to prevent spware from getting on my PC.  I do not want the hassle to remove something bad, I don't want to every see it.

We have purchased the Counter Spy Enterprise 1.5.  It is working beautifully!  We have been able to remove tenacious Spy/Ad-ware from our machines.  It also allows us to track the top spy/ad-ware machines, the top infections, and run scans at our convience.  The Instant Alert (aka real-time protection) is great, too. It allows our users to see just how spy/ad-ware infects their machines.  So far, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great anti spy/ad-ware program in their enterprise.  I would recommend the Microsoft version which is still BETA, I believe, and will release soon as a free-ware, Microsoft Anti-Spyware.  Both share the same GIANT software code.
