Creating Install Files

I was curious on how to create your own executable files in windows xp that someone can run and install programs on their computer. i remember hearing of a built in feature of xp but cant remember how to access it. Also i wanted to know if anyone knew of a way that i can back up about 9 Gigs of data and i want to do it over a numerous amount of cds using my CDRW burner is there any program that i can use that will just backup all the data so that i just have to change the cds when each one gets full. if anyone has answers to my questions that would be very apprieciated.

I was just this evening trying to figure out how to back up the new Dell. Apparently backup is not an option anymore in the non professional version of Windows XP and the "help" section on this says "Back up your stuff to a cd with a "back up" program for that media" (I paraphrased that). So basically you need to get a back up program. I found one at Symante.com called Ghost that is 70 dollars, or Drive Image 7 which is also 70 bucks. Supposedly they just keep asking you to put in the next CD when you Ghost your data. You'll have to check it out personally to validate that. I decided just to back up my own on some Zip disks and CD's in sections.

Canvaswriter,

If you are using XP Home Edition Microsoft Backup is not installed by default. You can install it using the procedure here. However, it does not span CDs so to do a backup to CD you have to write the backup to the hard disk then copy it to CDs.
