ctrl L/fast user switch not working
Help. I have my user account controls set to allow fast switch among users. I used to hit ctrl L and switch back and forth between users. After a recent repair from my windows CD this no longer works. In order to change users, the last user has to log off completely. I've tried resetting the controls; no luck. Any ideas?

Sorry I couldnt help. The same thing happened to me, and when I enabled the service my probs were solved. Do you wanna check one thing for me? Reopen the services dialog box and make sure "Terminal Services" is Started, not just set on automatic. If it isnt, double click it and select the start button to begin the service and tell me the results.

As the info is correct check Services "Remote Procedure Call (RPC)" is started as "Terminal Services" is Depentant of it.
Also as svchost.exe is also in DLLCACHE
You could try running SFC , which checks protected System Files for corruption & if found replaces them from reinstall..XP CD .
If it prompts for XP CD , hold Shift key while inserting XP CD to stop Auto play.
Use Start > Run & type
sfc /scannow (space after sfc)

thanks, Yes, I tried to 'start' the fast user switching compatibility. When I click start I get the following error message:
error 1068: the dependency group or service failed to start
perhaps this is referring back to the earlier post where I listed the error message when trying to start Terminal Services ( which is perhaps the service the latter of the two errors is telling me has not started?)
I read somewhere on a microsoft support page that if a computer doesn't have enough memory, then it will not allow the fast user switching. I have 256mb ram.... but perhaps I could see if something weird is draining my available memory? How can I verify? It's not the same process as my WIN98 computer...not sure how to get a quick number using XP.
