Cursor turning to white over text boxes!

I just can't seem to figure out why my text bar cursor is turning white over every single text input on my brand new computer!  Since I got my new XPS out of the box it has been bugging me, it happens in every program where I enter text, including web pages.  I have double checked my mouse pointers and the text pointer I have selected is in fact black.  I also have the "hide pointer while typing" option disabled in my control panel.  Can anybody suggest something else to change this annoyance?  Thanks!
