d: drive access
My Dimension5150 arrived last night and so for I have found only one problem...
The CD-RW/DVD-Rom drive works perfectly at reading the autorun files on DVD's and CD-Rom games and even finds media content on other CD's but it will not let me view the disc's file structure in My Computer.
Even after I have cancelled the autorun pop-up, when I try to explore the d: drive it simply doesn't recognise that as a valid action. eg:
I right click on the D: drive icon on My Computer and click Open - nothing happens. If I click Explore instead a new window opens displaying My Computer, not the CD/DVD's files.
In Windows Explorer, if I click on the drive it refuses to highlight and moves itself back to My Computer or C:. This effect also happens from inside any program.
I can only actually see the files on a CD/DVD if I use MS-DOS command prompt. Dos allows me to type d:\dir and will display the files.
Thanks very much for any help!
Scott.
