Data Execution Prevention Error

When I boot up my computer I keep getting an error message:   Generic Host Process for Win32 Service has encountered an error and must close.  Anyone know how to fix or get rid of this?  I am running XP Home Ed.with Service Pack 2.  Tried downloading Microsoft's Hotfix, but, it's still happening.  Thanks for any help

click on start,run,type services.msc
in services window
Double-click the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) icon
in general , from the start up type drop down,,select 'disable' to disable the service,
then click on the service status...'stop' button to  stop the service..
repeat this to ensure that its disabled and stopped..
then restart the computer...
fine???
if this is not effective, let me know..
