DataSafe doesn't recognize flash drive

Brand new inspiron, win-7, changed bios and datasafe STILL can't recognize a flash drive that windows says is accessible and working fine. I even uninstalled/reinstalled their s/w to no avail. FIX your software so that it actually works as promised! one addition to my above complaint. first tried to use dvd-s and datasafe hung at 5% of the verify process. Is this what people are to expect from a dell product and its software?

Are you using junk DVD blanks?

It may surprise you to know that the good stuff isn't sold in the stores.

junk blanks?  I can create a dvd on them so they're not junk for that.

He says he can't get the software to enable the "Start" button if he picks USB instead of disk for creating rescue media.

To dachief123 -  I too have been banging my head tyring to find out where it's failing and what exactly is happening. You can find two log files (RMCPlg.exe.LOG & USBBootPlg.exe.LOG. ) in the following directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell DataSafe Local Backup\Components\RMCCpn.

Start from the bottom and work your way up as it's a LONG file...

I would suggest uninstalling, downloading then reinstall Datasafe local. You can get it from Dell here.  (http://dslbdownload.datasafelocalbackup.com/dsldownload-en.html)

Hope this helps.
