DCOM errors?

Question

Brand new precision workstation with our standard software loaded. Looked in the event viewer and we noticed something. There were many times where there would be about 10 of these errors in rapid succession: DCOM got error 'The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.' attempting to start the service lap with arguments '-Service' in order to run the server.... Event ID 10005

Go to Start, Run, Services.msc.  Your DCOM service is there.  And you can change it.

You don't want DCOM enabled. Go to the GRC site and read about it and download DCOMbobulator: http://www.grc.com/dcom/

Hm. Well the next week the problem went away by itself...
