DDVDataCollector and Difficult Choices

When Controlled Folder Access in Windows 10 blocks a DDVDatacollector entry and creates a notification, it is easy enough to give the blocked app access through the Windows Security, and there are other threads on that in this community. However, it is difficult, time-consuming, and distracting to assess each blocked app for its safety, unless the user is already highlyl informed on technical issues, and even then the distraction remains. So I have these questions:

#1. How problematic is it for the typical user to just allow no additonal apps into DDV? That seems to work for my rather basic computer use, the web and Office and not much else.

#2. If one decides to add zero programs to DDV, what is the best way to permanently block the constant nuisance notifications? Under Services (Local), the three relevant lines are Dell Data Vault Collector, Dell Data Vault Processor, and Dell Data Vault Service API. Is the best plan to stop all three? If so, do they start up again on next reboot, or perhaps on the next Windows or Dell update? Wouild any of this reduce ransomware protection? Based on the description, permanently stopping the Processor looks sufficient. I do not want to block all security notifications, which sounds unwise.

We tried reaching you on a private message asking for the Service Tag number to ascertain the warranty but did not receive a response. Please feel free to reply to the private message whenever you are available.

I am turning off private messages because the requests for the service tag is just hunting for business, very unwelcome, a nuisance, and does not speak well of Dell in any way.
