Outlook Express does not seem to be functioning properly. When I select it in IE to be my default email, nothing changes.
I cannot open and use Express, it gives me error messages and I have not been able to find a way to re-install it. However, that may be a side issue because I think that was fine when this problem first began.
You need to reinstall your outlook for that problem...because one of its important part that needs it to run correctly is corrupted. However you cant remove outlook express from Add/remove program...
to reinstall Outlook Express
perform these steps:
Click the Start button, and then click Search. The Search Results window appears.
Click All files and folders.
Type msoe50.inf in the first search field.
Verify the Look In box has the (X: ) drive selected, where X is the drive letter for the primary partiation.(usually the drive letter is C: )
Nope, that didn't work. It called for the Windows XP disks, which I found, but the problem still exists and I'm still getting the same error messages from Outlook Express.
In addition, after reinstalling XP, it caused all sorts of weird problems. All of the sudden IE7 disappeared, leaving IE6, but everytime I clicked on any link or typed into the search bar, it would open another case of IE6 that wouldn't respond, and then kept opening more and more windows until I was able to stop it.
I fixed that problem when someone gave me a copy of Firefox, which I installed and used to get to Windows to download IE7 again.
Now, my print function is all messed up. I print one document and it seems to hang in the queue, as if it didn't fully print, and then I can't print anything else unless I re-boot the computer.
All this for a problem everyone seems to think was caused by Microsoft to begin with and they won't even address it!
