"default" screen font size is too big

I just got my new laptop and noticed that the font size (desktop, etc) is all up. It's too big. I went to look at the settings, and it says it's set to normal... but it's not. Is this because it's a laptop with a very high resolution for 15" screen? How do I fix this?

Hi PJ6,

Are you running in high contrast mode?

Are you running at a low resolution? 800x600?

If not try this:

Make sure the font size is set to normal (96 dpi) then

open up your Display properties -> goto Appearance -> Select Advanced and you should have
a dialog with desktop settings including 'icon size', 'icon text' etc.

Try and adjust it that way.

Let us know,

Mike

That was it, like you suggested I just had to look into the Advanced settings. It was set at 120dpi instead of 96.

Thanks!
Paul
