I doubt that will help but it is good to do anyways.. open "my computer" right click your hard drive and then pick properties, click the tools tab and then defragment.  It opens a new window with the defragmenter program.. click the drive and select "defragment"..  I would definatley scan for viruses online before trying again, try Trendmicro's Free Online scan http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

I'm having problems installing Norton Internet Secucurity 2005 AntiSpyware Edidition on my Windows XP Dimension 3000 Series desktop computer. When I try to install it the following message appears : "Setup Error - Norton Internet Security Installation has failed. You can retry or cancel this activity." I have 24.5 GB drive space left on my computer, so thats not the problem. I was told if I defragment my computer, that it may solve the problem. How do I defragment my computer?

Hi:

Read this from Symantec and see if this will help:

Symantec

Read the bottom of document and you will see it applies also to Spyware Edition. Hope this helps.

P.S. Scroll down to Windowsxp, click + sign, will open up with full instructions.

Defragmenting your computer can make some of your programs such as games run slower, be wary of what you attept to do.
