defragmentation problem.

Hi. I'm having trouble to defrag one of my partitions. The partition is a 10 GB large and this is the picture of the defrag, 2,69GB are free that is 26-27%.

I've tried many things to defrag the system, but everytime it's completed, and I analyze the drive, defragmentation says I should do a defrag. I currently have a dual boot of xp MCE and XP MCE, and have tried to defrag the same partition from both boot. I've made a defrag from safe boot, a defrag after removing paging file. I have also made a complete full disk check using scandisk, and no errors were present. I don't have any virus or spyware, say AVG and Windows Defender.

What more should I do?

Try a third party defrag utility.

Also do a disk cleanup on that drive.

You have a dual boot of the same operating system twice? . . Why is that??

Well I found out. It's the pagefile, and it has 2 fragment's. I've tried to defrag using other software, and deleting pagefile, and then defrag, but the fragments don't go away. But thanks for you help. 2 fragments shouldn't be that big of a deal, right?

And I have dual boot of XP MCE, because I'm going to upgrade the other, so I don't have to install drivers, and everything. At the moment I don't have all the CD, so I chose to install a second partition with XP, that could be my backup system, if printers or software won't work!

My "less than elegant" method of defraging the Page File.  Set the Page file size to 0 . . reboot into safe mode and defrag . . then reboot to normal mode and reset the Page File size . .

I have. Twice. Didn't defrag the fragments. But thanks anyway.

But perhaps 2 fragment's in a file that's 2GB isn't that bad?
