1. Click on the Tools->Options menu item.
2. Click the Edit tab.
3. Under Editing Options, check the check box next to "Typing replaces selection".
4. Click OK.
Tried that. As I said in my original post it will only work once and then it won't work again. Tried to delete the normal.dot as well didn't work either.

Hi Jesse,
Tried that. As I said in my original post it will only work once and then it won't work again. Tried to delete the normal.dot as well didn't work either.
