Deleted hidden partition and new windows...
Hi
I have problem.I have deleted hidden partitions and have meda news. But after installed windows XP home, i have to choose which operating system i want to choose. But there are two same possibilities and the second one is Windows XP home, but when I click second one, there is a message :"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: windows root \systenm32\hal.dll please re-install a copy of the abovew file"
How can I fix the problem, I would like to start my windows normally without this choosing selection. It is possible, do I need some cd containing the Dell software or what, can somebody help me?

You have two options. The cleaner of the two is to edit out the reference to the second operating system in BOOT.INI as described here. The other is to go to Start|Run, enter msconfig and click OK. On the BOOT.INI tab click "Check all boot paths." One will be flagged as bad and you can delete it at that time. (This will result in the message at bootup that you are running in selective startup for troubleshooting, but you can check the box on that message to prevent its being displayed again.)
