Deleting a program

Other than using the Add/delete function on a computer to remove a program is there any other things that need to be done to get the entire program and all of it's components out of the system.

Normally add/remove or the program uninstaller should accomplish this task.Of course there can be exceptions, such as removing norton which is more involved.

After removing a program I search for files and check the registry to confirm.

No there should not be, there are some programs that are stubborn to remove completely like Norton and McAfee products. and their websites have removal/cleanup utilities to help with this.

Sometimes the program uninstaller will leave folders behind in My Documents and Program Files, I usually search the C drive for the name of the program I removed, and see what was left behind.

Registry entries are sometimes left behind also, but you need to be an advanced user to clean these, and is only done when there are specific problems, and No I do not recommend registry cleaners of any kind, they do more damage than good most of the time.
