Deleting problems.

Alright, I got the xps 600 not so long ago, and I haven't experienced any problems. But then, I decided to take things to a new level, so I downloaded a p2p sharing program so I can download Microsoft Visual Basic. Well, the p2p sharing program did what it was supposed to. It gave me the right program and everything. Apparently, I had saved all the files in the wrong spot so that the installer couldn't recognize the files, or maybe I was just missing files. I wasn't to sure, but I wasn't willing to wait. I tried deleting what I could, and turns out that the folders that I don't want are still on my computer. I've tried going through the explore, I've tried to go to add remove programs, but what is the point when you only have files? So, I decided to do a system restore a day before. Well, it was successful except for the fact that the files and folders of Microsoft Visual Basic is still there! How do I get rid of the files and folders I don't want?

Then let me rephrase the question. How can I search for all the files pertaining to a program, and then delete them?
