Deleting user account

In Windows Vista I deleted a user account, and when I go under "add/remove user account," I no longer see it.  But every time I restart my laptop, it pulls up the old account and says password is incorrect.  That's the ONLY time I see the old account.  Any idea why this is happening?  Has anyone else run into this?  And how in the world can I get this to stop?  :emotion-7:

Thanks,
David

Jesse -

Thanks, but the issue isn't deleting the account.  I already followed the steps for deleting the account in question, and when I go under "user accounts" you can't see the new account. But when the PC restarts, that is when I see the old account.  I have attached some photos to help explain.

Thanks,

David

Hogipdx,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

I found information on doing a registry hack in xp to remove a deleted account from the login boot screen. It may be in the same area in the registry for other OS's as well. Read the link below.

I tried this recommended option and I am still having the problem with the sign in screen.  It's getting frustrating :(
