Hi Lim Jaan Hong,

Please share the following information:

- Did you make any software or hardware change to the computer immediately before the error occurred?
- Did you re-install 'Windows'? If yes, describe the way you managed the disk (partitions)
- Are you facing any other issue with the system?
- 'Dell Backup and Recovery software' is pre-installed in the system at the time of purchase. Any specific reason why you had to re-install it? Also share the 'download source' for the program.

In the mean while, you may try to remove the currently installed application (Dell Backup and Recovery); and try doing a fresh install from the following link: http://bit.ly/UUjIs0

Hope this helps. Do reply with the finding.

Hi Lim Jaan Hong,

It is likely that the an older/incompatible download version is being used; or residues of the corrupt application still exist in the registry. Please try the following steps and check if this resolves the issue for you.

• Install the Revo Uninstaller Pro from the link: http://bit.ly/236r
• Use Revo Uninstaller Pro to remove the Dell Support Center and Dell Backup and Recovery programs from the system.
• Please restart the system after the programs are uninstalled.
• Install the Dell Backup and Recovery first from the link: http://bit.ly/UUjIs0
• Restart the system and check if you still face the issue. If yes, then install the Dell Support Center from the link: http://content.dellsupportcenter.com/updates/aulauncher.exe
• Restart the system again.
• You may uninstall the Revo Uninstaller Pro from ‘Control Panel’ as this is a free 30 days trail version.

Hope this helps. Please share the findings.

No need to re-install on XPS 13.3.

Changed language to English (United States);

made it the first in the list of priority;

Insert FAT32 formatted USB SDCard;

opened Dell support centre;

clicked on Backup;

click on Create Recovery Media;

Click on USB Flash;

And it found my USB drive.

I'm using USB SDCard adapter with a Kingston 16 GB microSD card.

Hope this helps someone.
