Buy a 16 gig or larger USB Flash drive and backup that way. You will be much happier with the result and it will be much more
reliable than several dvd's.
When you use this method it gets everything including the recovery partition so that if the drive dies entirely you can boot from the usb flash and
recover the factory spec on a hard drive that is at least as large or larger.
