Dell dimension E310/ Locked out after installing
Just installed Vista everything was fine shut it down last night went to start it all I get is a blue screen saying I'm locked out. How can I get back in tried the safe mode that did not work. Need help desperately

Just to add. I cannot even get into safe mode its completely locked up when it was fine yesterday after installing. Any ideas. Had windows XP then updated to Vista premium on a dell dimension 310E. Get blue screen. Have tried everything. Cannot even boot from CD to get to startup repair?
Says a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to the computer. I'm trying to help out my brother who is handicapped and all he has is his computer. numbrs we get are

I have an old dell desk top. demsion E310. Lots of time the screen freezes and the only way to unfreeze is to push the off button. This time it would not start up correctly. Message reads Enterering Power Safe Mode dell st 2410.. Also make a wineing sound before the message appears(message only appears very briefly and then the screen turns off) Is there anything that I can do before taking to retail GEEK TYPE shop? Turning power cord on and off does not correct the problem? Paul
