Dell Docs folder questions

Hello can anyone help me,

I have a Dell XPS M1730 with Vista Ultimate installed. All updates are current.

I was wondering if other Dell PC owners had the same folders as me because it does not seem to me to be setup correctly. My file system shows the following:

'C:\DELL\docs' with five subfolders named as follows:

FK163

GM492

MM890

PY770

YR455

but each of these subfolders are empty.

There is another folder:

'C:\doctemp' with the same five subfolders named as above, but each of these folders contain files. It seems odd to me that there are two folders when all there needs to be is one under the 'C:\DELL\docs'  folder. The 'doctemp' folder seems to be redundant. The 'Dell Document Viewer' also seems to indicate this as per its instructions as follows:

*********************************

Do I need to update the reader after I install new software or hardware from Dell?

Dell hardware and software installers automatically place documentation on the hard drive in the c:\dell\docs\ folder. Once an installation is complete, the viewer will automatically include the updated documentation the next time you open it.

Can I add documents to this viewer that are not installed automatically by Dell?

You can add documents to the viewer at any time by copying them to the c:\dell\docs\ folder. These documents are not limited to just HTML or PDF formats, and can be searched by title. The viewer will automatically include the added documents in the navigation pane and in title searches the next time you open it.

*********************************

I have tried adding docs to the viewer by following the instructions "You can add documents to the viewer at any time by copying them to the c:\dell\docs\ folder.", but it doesn't work.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thank you.

Brian
