"Dell Factory Image Restore" missing
Hi,
I have a dell Precision m4300 - vista ultimate.
I have a recovery partition on my system. I have searched many threads on how to restore my system to factory settings using the partition. Which mainly is as follows:
1. restart system
2. Press F8
3. select Repair your computer
4. Specify language
5. log in as a user who has administrative credentials.
I have reached there but the next step "6. Click Dell Factory Image Restore" does not exist among the options i have.
I have also read some posts with the same problem, and the solution involved using the windows vista DVD. Please note that my system did not ship with the Windows DVD.
Please Advise on how to work around this.
Any help is greatly appreciated
Thank you in advance

Vista restore is different from XP restore and you must boot to the vista dvd: Instructions here.
PS Vista restore is available only if vista was installed by Dell, not on upgrades.

Thank you for all your posts
First of all, my system was shipped with vista ultimate i did not upgrade.
Since i got the system i did not temper with the partition named "Recovery". , the size of which is 1.99 GB with 1.39 GB free.
The Cd (DVDs) i got with the system are
1. Utilites and drivers
2. The roxio software
3. The Mcaffee security center.
where do i go from there?
Thank you again

you have a precision workstation, you are not supposed to have the factory image restore
request backup dvds from dell, there is a link on support.dell.com that you can pull up to request them
